We made mock Facebook profiles for the main character of The Twenty-One Balloons,Professor William Waterman Sherman, after we finished reading the book. Everyone found their own profile pictures to represent the character and then decided on categories such as his interests and favorites, song now playing, and latest blog post. Hello, iPad!!

We were all huddled around my laptop yesterday watching Steve Jobs (CEO of Apple) release Apple's newest product, the iPad. As we talked about the way rumors were circulating for weeks about Apple's newest product, we began to see some connections between this innovation and the innovations of William Waterman Sherman, the main character in The Twenty-One Balloons. How are William Waterman Sherman and Steve Jobs alike, and how are they different? What makes the iPad an innovation?
